About Us
Academic Allies was formed in 2022 by OCT-certified teachers who decided it was time for a transformation on the approach to tutoring. We focus on hands-on learning, and a holistic approach to supplementary education that transcends traditional boundaries. By combining expertise with innovation, we aspire to create an educational environment where every student’s individuality is celebrated, challenges are seen as opportunities for growth, and where learning goes beyond the classroom.
A portion of all tutoring funding goes back into our students and community. We want children to enjoy learning, so we ensure that we make our sessions as fun as possible. This funding also helps children who may not get to experience certain activities regularly by allowing us to provide them with these opportunities. Whether it be having a pizza party, playing with bubbles, or playing a game of soccer, we love when our students can socialize, have fun, and learn at the same time!

Scholarships
This summer, Academic Allies was proud to support the Durham Catholic District School Board Multi-Sports Camp by providing $1000 in scholarships to students who showed incredible dedication and spirit to their academics and as camp leaders.
In addition, Dr. Carl James (York University Professor and Jean Augustine Chair in Education, Community and Diaspora) generously matched our scholarship, allowing another student to benefit. Inspired by this, the DCDSB contributed an additional $2000 ensuring that every student recieved support.
Together, we’re investing in the growth of young student leaders— in the classroom and on the field.
